A party with a difference
Organised by Gill Sanderson, Ümit Kasım and Karen Okka after the retirement of founder, George Rimmer last year, Soul Train is in its second year and is a party with a difference.
Soul Train is an event organised to raise money for local charities. This year the team chose Yaşam İçin Yarış (Race For Life) and Hands Neutering as the Soul Train destinations and 50% of the money raised would be donated to each of the chosen charities.

They say ” The best party always happens in the kitchen”
That saying was disproved on Thursday 5 September when over 600 revellers boarded the Soul Train at Leb-i-Derya Aksazlar and embarked on an evening of non stop music, dancing, foam and fun, fun, fun!
A superb venue, live music from the talented Onur Asilkılıç and music and foam party by Soul Train’s own DJ Ümit, ensured the evening was wall-to-wall enjoyment from beginning to end.
The fantastic raffle and auction prizes donated by local businesses and the generosity of people helped to raise the final staggering amount of …50,300 TL

Presenting the money
On Friday, the Soul Train team invited the two charities along to Leb-i-Derya Aksazlar to present them with a donation of 25,150 TL each. The presentation was attended by members of the Yaşam İçin Yarış team and Brenda Singleton from Animal Care Uzumlu, representing HANDS neutering.
The money was presented to Dilek Dinçer, Director of FETAV and a member of the Yaşam İçin Yarış committee and Brenda Singleton on behalf of HANDS

Yaşam İçin Yarış (Race For Life Turkey)
Yaşam İçin Yarış Fethiye operates under FETAV and has become an annual event, now in it’s fifth year. All money raised is used to buy equipment for the Oncology department at the Fethiye Devlet (State) Hospital) and to help cancer sufferers in Fethiye and the local area receive life saving treatment.

Hands Neutering
HANDS is a neutering charity operating under the registered Animal Care Uzumlu charity (ACU). It’s aim is “A reduced but healthy population of street animals.”
The HANDS charity, run by Jenny Connor based in the U.K., helps individuals and organisations to neuter animals all over the Fethiye area. Private vets give the HANDS charity a reduced price so that as many animals as possible can be neutered.
