When we talk about booking next year’s holiday to Turkey, there’s often a sharp intake of breath and we’re asked – “Will there be enough flights after the collapse of Thomas Cook last month?”
Turkey has already made the necessary agreements with several international carriers to provide an additional capacity of nearly 1.2 million for 2020 to replace 850,000 seats lost as a result of the collapse.
EasyJet will provide additional capacity for 507,000 people annually.
Thomas Cook’s top rival TUI will be providing additional capacity of 325,000.
Jet2 will provide 325,788, British Airways 15,637 and national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) and its joint venture with German carrier Lufthansa, SunExpress will provide 25,000, a figure that could increase.
I think we can safely say there will be flights available.
