Turquoise coast one of the 19 destinations that defined 2019

CNN Travel has named the Turquoise Coast as one of the 19 destinations that defined 2019.
The Turquoise Coast ranked with places such as Australia, The Bahamas, Japan, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Amsterdam.
Here’s what CNN Travel had to say:
“Fewer travelers outside Europe know about Turkey’s spectacular Turquoise Coast, 600 miles of shoreline extending from the province of Antalya in the south to the Çesme Peninsula in the north.
But that’s changing quickly, as global travelers seek out lesser-known spots with fascinating local culture and all the usual tranquility that comes with sand and surf.”
The association will provide and enhance care and support for all affected and reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common dementia disease, causing a loss of brain functions. Today, the fastest growing age group in the world (especially in developed countries and welfare societies) is people aged 65 and over. The incidence of Alzheimer’s disease increases with age (8 out of 100 people over the age of 65 have Alzheimer’s disease) and is becoming one of the biggest health problems in Turkey.

Turkey ranked 7th-best country for expatriates

Turkey was ranked the seventh-best place for expatriates to live and work after Switzerland, Singapore, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, and Australia.
More than 18,000 expats living in 163 countries were surveyed on their adopted countries’ cultural, political, economic conditions by HSBC bank’s Expat Explorer Report, said a statement by Turkey’s Communications Directorate.
According to the survey, 62% of expats in Turkey said that quality of life in Turkey is much better than in their home countries.
Over half of expats in Turkey have enough time for their hobbies and private lives. Also, 69% said they feel safe in Turkey and that Turks are friendly to foreigners.
The proportion of expats who are satisfied with the balance between working hours and private life was 60%.
Turkey also came in first in the survey in the categories of “cultural, open and welcoming” and “ease of settling in.”

Istanbul islands suspend horse carriages over illness

Horse-drawn carriages on Istanbul’s Princes’ Islands have been banned for three months due to an outbreak of glanders, a fatal disease mainly seen in horses, Istanbul’s governor said on Friday.
“Horse-drawn carriages have been suspended for three months to complete the process of checking the horses for glanders,” said Ali Yerlikaya in a video posted on Twitter.
The move came after at least 81 horses were killed after glanders was found during checkups on the islands, in the Sea of Marmara.
The four Princes’ Islands — Buyukada, Heybeliada, Burgazada, and Kinaliada — do not allow internal combustion engine vehicles other than emergency vehicles and some municipal vehicles.
Horse-drawn carriages are used for transport on the islands, especially during busy weekends with day-tripping tourists.
