Fethiye Times - LOVE-FETHIYE

The subject of flights to Turkey always generates a lot of debate. Following the demise of Thomas Cook, the remaining airlines have responded with increased capacity and new routes.  Here at Fethiye Times, we thought we’d have a look at those additions and give our readers an overview of what’s new. Whilst this list isn’t exhaustive, we hope it will give you some idea of the flights available this summer.

Turkish Airlines plans to launch summer service between London and Dalaman

Turkey’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines are launching a direct service from Dalaman (DLM) to London Gatwick (LGW).

The new route will operate three times a week from 25 May 2020 (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) and daily from 1 June 2020.

The route will be operated by one of the carrier’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which feature two cabins: business and economy.

The route will be operated by one of the next generation of the Boeing 737 family, narrow-body B737-800, a world-leading aircraft in the Turkish Airlines fleet. The Boeing 737-800 model offers an incredible interior space, an aesthetic exterior combined with in-flight entertainment systems and comfortable seats providing passengers the privileges of the Turkish Airlines flight experience.

In addition, the Star Alliance carrier plans to increase the frequency on two of its existing routes.

Effective from 29 March 2020, the route from Antalya (AYT) to London Gatwick (LGW) will increase from 7 weekly to 14 weekly flights.

Effective from 03 June 2020, the route from Bodrum (BJV) to London Gatwick (LGW) will increase from 3 weekly to 4 weekly flights.

On Monday (13 January) Turkish Airlines also filed inventory changes for summer 2020 season as it confirmed the transfer of all international flights at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to AnadoluJet, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines.

Effective from 29 March 2020, the daily route from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) to London Stansted (STN) will be operated by AnadoluJet, replacing the Turkish Airlines Mainline Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to London Gatwick
