Thinking about a visit to Fethiye conjures up images of bright turquoise seas, azure skies, brilliant sunshine and long days spent relaxing on the beach.
Thinking about a tour with Animal’s Excursions brings to mind Wet ‘N’ Wild, Up and Down, Outback Adventure Safari and, of course, the inimitable “Animal” whose aim is to make sure that your day with them is the highlight of your holiday .
That’s the summer covered, but what about winter tours?
Snow days are fun days
Fethiye Times is often asked to arrange winter excursions, particularly trips to the snow. Yes! The mountains surrounding Fethiye are covered in snow from around December to March – truly a stunning sight to see.
As we’re always looking for an adventure (and articles), we contacted Animal’s Excursions owner, Semih Özgüder (aka Animal) to talk about teaming up with Fethiye Times and arranging a trip to the snow.
Have a look at what they came up with…
“Winter Turkeyland”
Winter Turkeyland takes you to a snow-covered location, approximately 90 minutes drive from Fethiye.
Yesterday’s excursion took us to Göğübeli Yaylası near Elmalı, an ideal spot where the guests could enjoy a variety of fun activities including sledging, snowball fights and other snow games and compete to see which team could build the most creative “snow unicorn”.
New to Animals’s Excursions is the “Muck Truck”, a purpose designed vehicle that serves hot and cold drinks and snacks and has a bathroom for the “convenience” of the guests.
Lunch with a view
A lunch of hot soup followed by a BBQ of chicken, köfte and sucuk served with a selection of pasta and salads gives you a welcome opportunity to enjoy “lunch with a view”.
