Now in its fifth year, the Benyamin Sönmez Classical Music Festival is returning to Fethiye. The festival, which is a four-day celebration of the world’s classical repertoire, welcomes artists and orchestras from all across Turkey.

The music festival is named in honour of Benyamin Sönmez; a young and exceptionally talented classical cellist, who tragically died in 2011 at the age of just 28 after a heart attack in Ankara.

Festival Venues
The festival has a new home this year.
Karagözler Rowing Club Stadium (Kürek Kulübü)
Fevzi Çakmak Cd.48870 Karagözler, Fethiye
The main venue will be the Rowing Club Stadium in Karagözler, Fethiye – which is just opposite the Daffodil Hotel. Beginning at 9pm for four consecutive nights, concerts will be played against the backdrop of yachts, Fethiye Boat Yard and the Mediterranean sea.
D-Marin Göcek

In addition to the night-time performances in Fethiye, Göcek’s D-Marin will be host to three sunset soirées, each beginning at 6pm.
Babadağ Summit
48340 Ölüdeniz/Fethiye
One early-evening concert will be held at the summit of the Babadağ mountain in Ölüdeniz at 5pm. Please remember to take warm clothing with you as it is much colder on the summit of Babadağ.

– 21-year-old cellist Poyraz Baltacıgil, who amongst other accolades was winner of the 2014 Benyamin Sönmez National Cello Competition.
