Fethiye Times - LOVE-FETHIYE

The autumn weather in Fethiye has been beautiful with balmy sunny days reaching temperatures of 23 degrees celsius (even if it is a bit chilly in the evenings). Inevitably the weather has to change and bring rain and a sharp drop in temperatures, which is what happened on Tuesday! The storm clouds gathered, people rearranged outdoor activities and settled down to do those proverbial ‘rainy day’ activities.

And then the rain came!

The Taurus mountains provide a magnificent backdrop to Fethiye with stunning views that you never tire of looking at.

Mountaintops are cold because the thin air high up does not hold the Sun’s heat well, and the temperature falls 1.8°F (1°C) for every 500 ft (150 m) of height. So when the temperatures drop and the rain falls, it is cold enough to snow over high peaks. (Source www.factmonster.com)

So when the rains clear this is the sight that greets you…

Fresh clean air

A heavy shower of rain changes things, and suddenly the air is cleaner and everything is bathed in a new light.  Gone is the haze caused by particles of dust and pollen and the sky is filled with puffy white clouds floating in the fresh blue sky.
