Turkey blocks Wikipedia
Turkey has blocked all access inside the country to the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia.

Officials said “an administrative measure” had been taken, but gave no reason why.
Turkish media said authorities had asked Wikipedia to remove content by writers “supporting terror”.
The Turkey Blocks monitoring group said Wikipedia was unreachable from 05:00 GMT on Saturday 29 April. People in Turkey were unable to access any pages without using a Virtual Private Network (VPN). – source BBC World News. Click here to read the full article

Preparations for the season continue
Preparations for the season continued in Çalış this week as Çalış Tourism and Promotion Association (Çalış-Der) carried out an operation to clean up the beach.
Tractors used sand sifting beach cleaners to scoop up the top layer of sand onto a screen where the sand falls through the screen and the debris is carried up into a bucket for disposal.

From May to July sea turtles (Caretta caretta) will come ashore to lay their eggs on the beach so it is vitally important to keep the beach clean and follow the instructions on the signs.

Dawn breaks over the Anzac day service in Gallipoli
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the start of the ill-fated First World War campaign, in which thousands of Anzac troops died.
Services took place around the world on 25 April to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the Gallipoli landings.
Waves of Allied forces launched an amphibious attack on the strategically important Turkish peninsula – key to controlling the Dardanelles straits, the crucial route to the Black Sea and Russia.

The number of attendees this year was significantly lower than in previous years, after the Government warned people to stay away due to terrorist threats in Turkey.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and New Zealand Justice Minister Amy Adams attended the dawn service where they laid wreaths.
Convicts carry out clean ups
35 convicts took part in a clean up operation in the Kayaköy area this week. The aim of the project, “Yaşanabilir Bir Çevre İçin El Ele Projesi”(Hand in hand for a liveable environment) is to work with prisoners, as part of their rehabilitation, to create awareness of the importance of keeping the environment clean.

Fethiyespor stay out of the relegation zone
