Last week was sunny and very warm for early April in the Mediterranean town of Fethiye and at the weekend people could be seen wearing teeshirts and were talking about trips to the beach for swimming and sunbathing.

So, it was a bit of a surprise when, although rain was forecast for Sunday night and Monday, we got a good drenching.
But higher up there was a wintery surprise for the summit of Babadağ.

The sun was soon shining again by Tuesday, slightly cooler but nonetheless warming the soil and encouraging Mother Nature to put on a fine show.

The weather for the rest of this week is forecast as dry and sunny, with scattered cloud and temperatures in the mid to top 20s Celsius.

When we checked the Fethiye Times archives we realized that April weather in Fethiye has a reputation for playing tricks on the town and surrounding countryside.
Last year it was the same, almost to the day!
