If you’re a cherry lover and are looking for something to do this Sunday (9 July), why not take a trip to the 17th annual cherry festival at Nif.
Yörük Games Festival (Yörük Oyunları Şenliği)
This year the event starts at 14:00 with the Yörük Games Festival, including oil wrestling and local games throughout the afternoon.

Cherry Festival (Kiraz Festivali)
The Cherry Festival starts at 19:30 with the Fethiye Municipality Janissary Band followed by a cherry eating contest and the best cherry farmer award ceremony.
Concerts will also be given by Mustafa Selçukoğlu and Dilek Alşahan in the garden of Nif Elementary School.
About Nif – Arpacık
Nif – also known as Arpacık – is located high in the mountains above Üzümlü, at an altitude of 900 feet above sea level.

The cooler temperatures and higher rainfall make the village an ideal location for growing enormous, deep red, glossy, juicy cherries.

Escaping the heat
The temperatures are usually around 10 degrees cooler in Nif so it’s great way to get out of the heat for a while too. You may even need a wrap or a cardigan for the evening!
And you’ll be able to buy those delicious, juicy red cherries from local sellers at the side of the road!

We hope to see you there on Sunday.
