Fethiye Times - LOVE-FETHIYE

Road trips are a great way to get out and experience, see and of course, photograph roadside Turkey.

All you have to do is get in your car (rent one if you don’t have one), fuel up (important in Turkey as you can go many kilometers without seeing a garage if you get off the beaten track – something I do regularly), have an idea of your route, and go.

It’s a great way to get a collection of photographs with very little planning and preparation.

Here are some of the images from a Fethiye Times road trip.

Autumn colours

“How beautifully leaves grow old. How full of light and colour are their last days” – John Burroughs

Morning mist

Of course one of the great things about road trips is you can take a route that let’s you visit friends. The route took me past Tangala Bee Farm where Cem, Buket and a group of volunteeers were picking olives

Olives

“The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven”- Thomas Jefferson

Beekeeping

“The keeping of bees is like the direction of sunlight” – Thoreau

Cem also keeps bees and provides the honey that is available to purchase from Tangala Goat Farm.

Arı okulu (Bee School) is a new project for Cem which is all about learning from bees.

If you are interested in beekeeping, we will bring you more information in the coming months.

Nar suyu (Pomegranate juice)

“Sweetness overwhelms like the pleasant pop of a pomegranate seed.” – Allison Rose

There’s nothing better than a glass of freshly squeezed pomegranate juice when it’s time for a break.

One last stop

One last stop at Yeşil’s Kelebek Ev to enjoy coffee and some of Maryanne’s delicious home made cake – and what a view.
