FETAV Fhd protest against cruelty to animals
A protest was held at the Fethiye Culture Centre on Tuesday as a result of the vicious attack on Cesi, a four-year-old rottweiler in Fethiye last week.

Cesi was attacked and beaten with an iron bar sustaining an injury to his head needing seven stitches as well as injuries to his back and leg. The incident was caught on a security camera.
FETAV Hayvan Dostları (FHD) gave a statement to the press in condemnation of the attack and cruelty to all animals in Turkey.

The protest was attended by Cesi, who is making a good recovery from the attack.

In other incidents around Fethiye, a kitten died in Erzurum after being poisoned and a cat was shot with a rifle in Yanıklar. The cat underwent surgery to remove the bullet at Kentvet at a cost of 800TL.

The events of this week highlight that training is needed from an early age to develop a conscience and love for our animal friends.
Fethiye International Group (FIG) Christmas Fayre
The date had to be changed twice due to the weather conditions but the FIG Christmas Fayre was finally held on Wednesday 6th December 2017.
The day was incredibly busy and visitors enjoyed browsing and buying from the many stalls which included a selection of ceramics, handmade cards, handmade crafts, homemade marmalade/jams, pies/pasties, doughnuts, cakes, artwork, handmade bags and jewellery.

Monies raised on the day was a total of 2200TL which will go to help the local children of Fethiye and surrounding district.
FIG would like to say a huge thank you to all the stall holders and the visitors who attended and made the event a terrific success. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave up their time in the organising and setting up of the event to make this the success it was.
FIG would also like to say thank you to Fetav, the Belediye and Zabita for their support.
FIG Chairman, Sheila Tongue said “The whole day was a fabulous success, we had positive feedback from stallholders and visitors, the atmosphere was astounding.”
