Sundays are for relaxing, Sundays are for sleeping in, for some, Sunday’s are for brunch or lunch…
Wait! Lunch sounds good and what better way to work up an appetite than a good walk.
Walking is one of the easiest ways to exercise which is available to all of us all the time – and it’s free!
Regular walking has been shown to improve not only your physical fitness levels, but also your mental alertness and emotional wellbeing.
The Fethiye Times walking group decided a spring walk was the order of the day and so we decided to walk in the Örtaköy area and finish up with Sunday lunch at Our House.
Walking in Örtaköy
Örtaköy is a small village near Seyikemer, about 20 minutes away from Fethiye. It’s in an ideal position for walkers of all levels of experience, from sedate ramblers to experienced hikers.
We started out at Our House and loosely planned a circular route that would take us two to three hours and get us back in time for lunch. Şener from Our House helped us with some directions and off we went.
We didn’t have a fixed route, just an idea of where we were going and Google maps just in case we wandered too far and got lost.

Sunday lunch
Three hours and 12 km later we were ready for lunch. We’d heard good things about Sunday lunch at Our House and we weren’t disappointed. It was absolutely delicious.

A great way to spend a Sunday…
