3C’s Spring Fair
Beautiful weather, stalls displaying their wares and a great turn out of visitors made the 3C’s Spring Fair a huge success a couple of weeks ago.

Locals and holidaymakers had a great time browsing the range of crafts and handmade goods on sale; everything from paintings to home-made pickle and preserves, jewellery to home made sausages and garden ornaments to cornish pasties and cakes.

“It was a glorious day, hot but with a beautiful breeze on the sea front. In total we had 125 stall holders on the sea front from the band stand to past the taxi rank. The volunteers were on site by 7 am to set everything up ready for the stall holders to arrive at 9 am. We were open to the public from 11 till 5 and hundreds of people visited during these hours to browse and purchase the handmade crafts on offer. Items for sale ranged from Jewellery, ornaments, decorative items, home cooked food and cakes, carpets, homemade creams and soaps plus lots more.
In total we raised 6420,50 lira from table sales, the charity table sales and tombola. This is an amazing achievement and will go a long way to changing the life of a child for the better.
Our aim at Caliş Children’s Charity is to help underprivileged children who without our support would not get the help they need. We provide health equipment such as hearing aids, which is life transforming for the child and also for the child’s family. We provide wheelchairs of different specifications depending on the needs of the child. We are supporting 15 children through university and we also provide some schools with essential equipment.
We also have a shop in Koca Çalış which is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11 – 2. We continuously raise money to help the children. Pop along and pick up a bargain or two!
We would like to give special thanks to all our volunteers, without their help we couldn’t do any of this important work. Also thanks to Calis dernegi, Fetav and zabita for their help and support.”

“Support us at our events, donate unwanted items to our shop, volunteer to work in our shop, volunteer at our events or even join our committee. Any help will be very gratefully received.”
Rod Stuart performs for 3C’s

On 13th June 3C’s held another very successful Rob Stuart tribute night at Lee’s Bar in Çalış. As usual people were dancing on the beach front and it was standing room only as Stuart performed his two hour set. It was an amazing performance and we raised a total of 2547.50tl from raffle ticket sales and donations.
Caroline McGuire from 3C’s said “Thank you to everyone that attended, bought tickets and made a donation. Thank you also to Stuart and his lovely wife Linda who give us their time free of charge while on their holiday, to our volunteers for their help and Lee and his staff at the bar.
A very special thank you to John Stevens (also known as Highlander) who sold his t-shirt on the night for 200 lira and donated the money to us. This was a truly beautiful gesture and very special as it was in memory of his late daughter. Keep an eye out on social media or our Facebook page for the next event.”
