FETHIYE Fast Growing
Over the past decade Fethiye has grown fast, becoming more like a city than a town but thankfully the sleepy districts, reminiscent of the old days, can still be discovered and explored.
Once a quiet Mediterranean backwater, Fethiye is now filling up with glitzy, modern commercial and residential buildings.
These days the town boasts the Erasta shopping mall, glass fronted office blocks and cosmopolitan walking areas.
Whilst many like the variety of shops on offer, the choice of restaurants on the sea front, others also confess to rather liking things the way they used to be.

Those were the days, my friend
Maybe it’s like trying to hold back the tide but there are districts of Fethiye, tucked into the hillside, where time has somehow rather wonderfully managed to stand still.
To be reminded of those characterful days, why not go for a wander around the quiet back streets on a Sunday morning?
