Çalış Children’s Charity (3C’s) and Fethiye International Group (FIG) held their autumn fairs this week.
Both were lively and colorful events and locals and holidaymakers enjoyed browsing the range of crafts and goods on sale; everything from paintings to home-made pickle and preserves, jewellery to home made sausages and decorations to pasties and cakes.

A message from Cathy Harrower, Chairman of 3C’s…
“Çalış Children’s Charity Autumn Fair was held along Çalış sea front on Sunday 15th September. After thunderstorms on the previous 2 days, the weather was glorious as preparations got under way early in the morning.
122 stalls plus the 3C’s own tables were set up to await visitors. The official opening time was 11.00 am but people were browsing the stalls even though they were still being loaded with stock.
A wonderful selection of handmade craft and food items were on offer, with vendors travelling from as far away as Dalyan and Koyceğiz. Stalls were selling home-made cakes, hand-made cards, wonderful designer jewellery, wooden and metal sculptures, soft furnishings and decorative crafts of all descriptions.
The 3C’s stall had it’s popular tombola, with some people trying their luck many times. Also on sale were high quality items donated by our generous supporters.
The stall raised a little over 3,700 tl which is used towards helping underprivileged and sick children in the local area. Currently, we are supporting a young girl undergoing treatment for cancer, and a local school which needs new desks and equipment for a special needs class. We receive requests from schools and individuals who may have health care special needs, and we support 15 students with bursaries, to help with University costs.
We are always happy to accept donations, which we sell in our charity shop, and this generosity enables us to continue to support local children.“

“The FIG team is delighted to say that we had another very successful craft fayre in Fethiye on Tuesday. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our wonderful volunteers who helped man our stalls on the day, sold raffle tickets ahead of the fayre, baked cakes, sourced amazing raffle prizes and in general do so much to make the fayre a huge success.
We also thank all of our stall holders, locals and visitors who came along. It was a really good, fun-filled day. Thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, the raffle was drawn on Tuesday at the fayre and all winners have been notified. Well done to the winners and if you didn’t win this time you can try again in our Christmas raffle.
We also extend a big thank you to the local businesses and supporters who donate prizes, without you our raffle just would not be possible.
Thanks to everyone involved we raised 4,842tl which enables us to continue to help children in our local community. Thank you all”
