Before COVID-19, we were planning for the biggest and best Yaşam İçin Yarış yet, with a target of over 250,000TL raised.
After COVID-19, we had to have a re-think. Whilst we knew couldn’t arrange a massive event, we needed to raise money to continue to support our cancer patients, at the same time minimising the risk to those who would take part.
An Extraordinary 2020 Yaşam İçin Yarış
During the week of 26th October to 1 November 2020, those who wanted to take part, left their homes and walked, jogged or ran 5km. Some cycled or ran even further!
27 people entered the event this year and, along with Just Giving donations, raised a fantastic
67,982 TL

Where will the money go?
The money raised will allow us to continue to support our patients in the Fethiye area undergoing treatment for cancer.
We’re not in a financial position this year to be able to purchase equipment for the Devlet, however we do work closely with the Oncology department and will be monitoring their needs for future events.
On a personal note, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in an Extraordinary 2020 Yaşam İçin Yarış as well as to Team Yaşam İçin Yarış without whom, this event couldn’t take place.
Stay safe everyone and we hope to be back next year with an “Ordinary 2021 Yaşam İçin Yarış”.
