The Üzümlü Group – Cake and Bake with an Easter theme
The Üzümlü Group are a children’s charity based in Yeşilüzümlü. They hold fundraising events to help children in Üzümlü and the surrounding area.
One of these events is a Cake & Bake held at the Wine House Üzümlü on the last Friday of every month.
The March event fell on Good Friday so inevitably, it was a Cake & Bake with an Easter theme.
Beautiful sunshine and a great turn out made the morning a huge success and the total amount raised, with the sale of cakes and a raffle, was 1910 TL.
How will the money be used?
The money will go towards providing a wood store for Nif School. Currently, the wood they use in their wood burners during the winter is stored outside in the playground and gets damp and wet. This makes it extremely difficult and unhealthy to burn.
The Üzümlü Group will also be providing gifts for the school children to on 23rd April to celebrate National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in Turkey.
They have also recently supported the family of a child suffering from cancer by contributing to the cost of transport and accommodation during treatment.
We couldn’t do it without the help of local residents
The Üzümlü Group are quick to sing the praise of the local residents and local businesses, without whose help and support they wouldn’t be able to achieve what they do.
If you would like to make a donation, the Üzümlü Group will have a stall at the Yeşilüzümlü Mushroom Festival next weekend.
