Recently we brought you a story about two truck loads of street dogs from Seydikemer who were abandoned and left to die in the village of Koruköy on Boxing Day.

As result of this act, Animal Care Uzumlu, as a registered legal charity, has registered a complaint letter about this awful incident with the Muğla governor, along with a petition with 650 signatures.
On Wednesday 16th January, local animal charities came together for an interview and photos with the local press.

Brenda Singleton, the President of Animal Care Uzumlu (ACU, said.
“What an amazing day for a couple of reasons. I think it’s the first time that all the local animal charities have ever got together for a photo shoot.
Representatives then went to meet with the Seydikemer mayor and visit the proposed site for a shelter and hospital. The building needs some work but it is a great area.
Türkan Dağdelen from HAYDOS has offered to help in a practical way until the shelter is up and running – she will also provide help with training once it is set up .
This was an awful incident but our small charity, together with all the other charities who came on Wednesday, have given these animals a voice. Well done to absolutely EVERYONE who has supported this cause.”
